ARKYVR
A downloadable game
100% of itch funds will be donated to Tabletop Gaymers at the start of each quarter.
ARKYVR is a multimedia MOTHERSHIP 1E setting & toolkit to play documentary filmmakers in space for 1-4 players and 1 GM.
Equipped with only their camera gear, ARKYVRs will attempt to document life in space and expose corporate client atrocities while surviving the void’s unspeakable horrors. Players will make ends meet through corporate media contracts but with each assignment they will also find horrible truths hidden just under the surface of their mission. If the ARKYVR crew survives their film shoot, they must then decide how to distribute their footage. Some clients will pay a handsome price to cover up their atrocities while others will use it to lead a revolution. How will players use their recorded stories to shift the balance of power? Will they even live long enough to tell the story?
Created by and in collaboration with industry filmmakers! ARKYVR is a 60 page zine that brings a unique vision to deadly space adventures through the lens of a camera!
You will need a copy of Tuesday Knight Games’ MOTHERSHIP 1E or knowledge of its core rules to run this setting. This zine features new game mechanics, skill trees, gear, and character classes specifically for film production and media restoration. There are also plenty of guides, story seeds, and tables to help facilitate horrific documentary style adventures.

Capture the horror, then log it on a Shot List
Every mission will begin, follow, and end with the sacred client shot list. Your shot list will act as a mission guide, footage organizer, and storage tracker. The very success of your mission relies on how your team maintains this tool; no film set experience is complete without a little logistical chaos.
- Use your mental library of cinematic knowledge to describe the most amazing shot.
- Work together to increase your Skill % and roll to see if filming goes as planned.
- A success will unravel the stories you want. A failure will introduce new problems for the crew.
- Log your results on the Shot List
- Move on, if you're not dead.
Corporate Propogandist or Investigative Reporter
Earning credits will keep your ship flying but how long can you feed the machine before it consumes you as well? If you manage to find other clients in the sector, you may have some leverage in what stories to film. But there are varying degrees of risk and reward should you venture outside the corporate umbrella. How will you navigate your survival? What stories will you document? Whose voices will you empower through your craft?

Find Truth in Treasure
Add depth to your world by finding legacy media formats instead of treasure (celluloid, magnetic tape, vinyl, cassette, hard drives). Restore its contents using skill checks and uncover human stories that time forgot using Discoverable Media randomization tables. Some factions may pay a high price for the media you find during your travels.
Multimedia Randomizers
Search #ARKYVRLOOT on TikTok or Instagram to access our growing media library. Anyone can add to the library by simply tagging their videos with our hashtag. Wardens can use this media with our Signal Corruption tables to generate randomized in-game mutations and effects!
Use the Free Solaracom Logo Animation video file to stitch at the top of your videos if you like, or don't.

This looks really interesting! Will you be at PAX Unplugged? Would love to pick up a copy in person!
Yeah, Booth 4051, I’ll see ya there!
Great, I will make sure to stop by and introduce myself!
Wait, you had me at Herzog. As a doc producer and filmmaker I’m sold. And as a RPG retailer I’m going to ask: when is it going to be available in print?
Lol, awesome! There are many fun nods to filmmakers and indie film production life in here, you'll love it:) If you're interested in wholesale options, I have several and we're currently distributing to backers and retailers throughout September - just get in touch with me at alewoodgames [a] gmail.com and I'll spill the beans!
Will the physical zine be sold in websites like Exalted Funeral and Tuesday Knight Games after release?
Yes and Yes!
This is a brilliant concept!
Thank you!
